This document provides important information about the Multimedia Options Tour. Please read this document before starting the tour.
When you are finished reading and printing this document, choose Quit from the File menu to quit the SimpleText application program.
Setting Your Monitor
For the highest-quality video viewing, set your monitor to 256 colors or greater resolution. To change your monitor settings, take these steps:
1. Choose Control Panels from the Apple Menu Items() menu.
2. Choose Monitors to open the Monitors control panel.
3. Click 256 colors or greater.
4. Close the Monitors control panel.
Turning Off a RAM Disk
You cannot run the tour with a RAM disk turned on. To turn off a RAM disk, take these steps:
1. Choose Control Panels from the Apple Menu Items() menu.
2. Choose Memory to open the Memory control panel.
3. Click the Off button under RAM Disk.
4. Close the Memory control panel.
Turning Off Extensions
If you have trouble running the tour because there is not enough memory available, you can turn off selected system extensions to free up more memory. To turn off extensions, take these steps:
1. Choose Control Panels from the Apple Menu Items() menu.
2. Choose Extensions Manager to open the Extensions Manager control panel.
3. Click the extensions you want to turn off.
4. Restart your computer.
When you want to turn extensions back on, follow these steps again (turn the extensions on and restart).
Navigating Through the Demo
Use the mouse to click the buttons in the tour. You cannot use the keys on your keyboard during the tour.
Using the Apple Video Player Hot Key
The Apple Video Player application program allows you to use a keyboard shortcut (called a “hot key”) to open and quit the program, and to switch between Apple Video Player and any other open programs. However, due to a minor incompatibility problem with this tour, you cannot use the Apple Video Player hot key when the tour is open.
